P. Diddy Opens Charter School in Harlem

No matter how you feel about Sean Puff Daddy Combs, you have to admit his ability to stay in your news feed, even decades before the time of news feeds, is pretty damn impressive. He’s created arguably the most successful celebrity-made beverage ever with Ciroc, has kept several heavy hitting artists on his label, Bad Boy Records, and even slapped Drake with no negative repercussions on his career (unlike Nicki Minaj’s boyfriend). Well now the veteran, 46 year old, hip hop figure is sticking his fingers into the noblest game of all: the education game. This coming fall, Puff Daddy has plans to open his very own charter school in Harlem New York. Being a little over 5 years in the making, Capital Preparatory Harlem Charter School will opens its doors to kids in the 6th and 7th grade, and expand to through to the 12th grade with each coming year. This certainly isn’t the only time Combs has looked to give back. In 2005, along with Jay-Z, Diddy gave $1 million to help the victims of Hurricane Katrina, and back in 1995, he founded Daddy’s House Social Programs to help inner city youth in New York. Looks like the world famous producer isn’t the complete hot head he portrayed in Get Him to the Greek.
