Drake Finally Announces Release Date for “Views from the 6”

With the immense amount of success Aubrey Graham (aka Drake) has been having, it’s hard to imagine that his last official solo project, “If You’re Reading This, It’s Too Late”, came out over a year ago. Coming off a successful joint album with fellow hip-hop heavyweight Future, and a successfully won beef against Niki Minaj fiancée, Meek Mill, fans have been eagerly awaiting a release date for his next studio album, “Views From the 6.” This is no mere album announcement however, Drizzy was talking about this particular collection of music all the way back in the summer of 2014, right after the massive success of his second studio release “Nothing Was the Same.”

After teasing the project for literally years now with ambiguous posters around Toronto, two singles were unexpectedly leaked a few weeks ago in March, a dancehall-inspired slow jam, “Controlla” and a cover song titled “These Days”, before quickly being taken down across the internet. With how well those two short-lived records did along with the gargantuan success of “Hotline Bling”, we can only imagine Drake knows his fans are officially ready. From his own personal Twitter account, Drake has released a teaser trailer highlighting different parts of his music and acting career to officially announce a release date of April 29th for "Views from the 6". Rumors are circulating that the highly anticipated album will be available exclusively on Apple Music for the first week of its release, so if you don’t have an Apple Music account, make sure to sign up for that 1-month free trial!
