Fashion's Fresh Faces

Body positivity is a movement about appreciating and embracing all body types while creating awareness and giving women of different body types a voice!  Body positivity is taking the fashion world by storm with brands such as Aerie, ModCloth, and Torrid having ad campaigns that feature real and unique women!

This July, Torrid, a plus size retailer, released their Fall 2016 denim ad campaign which featured 11 women. The women in the campaign were models, actresses, customers, and the winner of the 2015 Torrid model search. 



The ad campaign was not only a way to promote their denim, but an opportunity to show diversity.  “It is an incredible thing to be a part of an inspiring group of women, all of us different sizes, ages and races come together,” said Georgina Burke, in the Huffington Post article, “Plus-size Retailer Torrid Nails The Most Epic, Inclusive Denim Campaign Ever”.

Along with the body positive ad campaign, Torrid is also launching the 2017 MyTorrid model search.  This model search allows costumers to become the face of the brand through open casting calls throughout the U.S. and online photo submissions.

The fashion industry is taking a great step towards body and racial diversity thanks to brands like Torrid who aren’t afraid to embrace and empower all women no matter what they look like. We couldn’t be more appreciative of that!
