Kevin Durant showcased that he’s still the same superstar he was at OKC while joining an already super stacked team, the Golden State Warriors, over this last week, but off the court he’s going back to his roots with his latest sneaker release.
Dubbed, “Fire & Ice”, this release is inspired by a young, scrappy Durant in Maryland honing on his basketball skills in the winter. Determined to play through the freezing cold, he’d warm up his frigid hands by rinsing them in hot water giving a burning sensation. So as a homage to this childhood memory, both extremes are represented by mismatched colorways coming in red and the other in icy blue.
For you grown men who are looking for a pair, unless you have kid-sized feet, you’re shit out of luck. These Nike KD 9 GS “Fire & Ice” are grade school exclusives sticking to the young Durant theme.
Look for them to release on November 11th, 2016 at select shops like Nike SF, Kid’s Foot Locker, Dick’s Sporting Goods and Nike.com. The retail price tag is set at $125 USD.
