Nintendo Continues Upward Trend with Huge Revamp Announcement
Anyone who’s ever met adversity in their life loves the story of the underdog. The guy that everyone counted out rising from the ashes to take out the top players and gain notoriety. For a lot of kids these days, that’s Nintendo in the gaming world. Little do those whippersnappers know that Nintendo was the definition of “sheer dominance” during the 80’s and 90’s, when Nintendo’s name was almost synonymous with “gaming” itself. No, all the young heads have really experienced is the okay-ness of Gamecube, a lame-ass “family” console in the Wii, and the Wii’s even whacker decedent, the Wii U. But luckily for the Japanese gaming company, 2016 has certainly proven to be the year of Nintendo.
With the extreme, trend-changing success of Pokémon GO, Nintendo looks to hit the gaming world with an equally devastating left hook in a console revamp that pays ode to their game-changing (pun completely intended) entertainment device of the 80’s. Like a really bad DJ at a nightclub, Nintendo’s gonna bring that shit back, with the release of the Nintendo Mini-NES. This mini console will feature 60 of Nintendo’s most notable and celebrated games that were released during the NES’s original reign from 1983 to 1990. New gamers looking to travel back in time, and old gamers wanting to relive the glory days, will get a mini-NES preloaded with 30 classics, all for just $60. Some notable classics coming on the mini-NES include, Super Mario Bros. 1 2 & 3, FINAL FANTASY, Kid Icarus, Kirby’s Adventure, and Legend of Zelda 1 & 2, just to name a couple. Make sure to plan where you’ll be picking up your Mini-NES on November 11th, because if you thought grabbing a new gen console was tough, wait till you find yourself fighting a father of three and his entire family to get your hands on one of these gems. Check out a full list of mini-NES’s games below!
