RB’s Shoe Showdown: Round 2

Adidas has been really stepping it up lately, with their ever-popular Boost variants selling like Supreme items, brokering a wide range of partnerships and, most recently, opening its New York City Flagship store to much fanfare. So what’s next? Patrons visiting their new NYC location (at 565 Fifth Ave) can stop by their special “miadidas” station to create their very own unique pair of Ultra Boosts. Another perk for visiting the flagship is getting a one-of-a-kind Ultra Boost inspired by the once copper now mint-colored Statue of Liberty. This custom colorway is exclusive to the Big Apple flagship.

The Michael Jordan empire has been busy lately promoting their Space Jam collection to celebrate its 20th anniversary, and with good reason too, this 1996 live-action/animated film is the highest grossing basketball movie to date. Another classic, the Air Jordan 3 is also getting an update, appropriately named “Wool”. The dark grey, wool construction with its white outsole finish complements most winter wear items like the Royal Blue Tech Fleece Zip Hoodie or Pullover Hoodie. These are slated for release on December 17th for $200.

So who are we picking? The overall design, tone, texture and finish of the Air Jordan 3 is so clean that it’s hard to resist. Also it helps that the Air Jordan 3 is one of our favorite models, and the “Wool” seems to only make it more attractive for us to get given how cold it’s been getting in the East. Too bad Adidas, customization of sneakers has been Nike’s domain for a while now, so we are going with His Airness, the Jordan 3 “Wool” as the winner for this winter’s top pick.
