Red Bull Looks to Change the Super Car Game
Red Bull is one of those companies that try to be multi-faceted through and through, and to be honest, they do a pretty damn good job with it. They promote forward thinking musicians like A.G. Cook and AWOL Nation on their own record label, sponsor top athletes like Blake Griffin, and even pay for guys to jump out of glorified hot air balloons to break records. No matter how you cut it, Red Bull reaches into a lot of shit, and tries to give it wings. So it should come as no surprise, that they’re making their very own type of super car available for purchase, “The AM-RB 001”.
Previously known under the mysterious codename, “Project Nebula,” the AM-RB 001 (which stands for “Aston Martin-Red Bull) is Red Bull’s first official automobile, a collaboration project with the luxury auto company Aston Martin. Being considered for the official predecessor to the Ashton Martin “Vulcan”, the AM-RB 001 is a super car that can certainly go toe-to-toe with the McClarin’s and Ferrari F450’s of the world. Taking most of the engine specification design from modern Formula 1 racing vehicles, the AM-RB is barely street legal, boasting V12, 1000 hp engine. Just how much kick is that exactly? Well the car’s track times are still under secrecy, but experts expect an engine like that in a car this light to clock 0 to 60 mph in under 3 seconds. The AM-RB’s price tag is ridiculously expensive. It's expected to costs anywhere from $2.6 million to $3.9 million dollars, but that certainly hasn’t seemed to cull the demand too much. Ashton Martin CEO, Andy Palmer, said the original plan was to only make about 99 or less of this special edition beauty, but with about 370 requests, Ashton Martin and Red Bull are looking into possibly making more. So start saving up those checks, because come 2018, we’re pretty sure this’ll be the only exotic anyone is talking about.
