Italian fashion brand Stone Island has made its way to the Big Apple. Known for it’s specialized dyeing techniques, surface treatment of fabrics, and of course the distinctive compass emblem Stone Island, or “Stone-y”, has been a staple in European fashion since 1982. The company now has 20 flagship stores, only two of which are in the U.S.
The brand has gained support from celebs like Drake, A$AP Nast, Travi$ Scott and also with popular menswear brand ‘Supreme’. With all this support, Stone-y has made its name known and the new NYC spot is proof. Located in the heart of Soho, 41 Greene St. New York, NY. Stone Island has taken a classic Soho storefront and made extensive changes to the interior to make it more in-line with the brand’s aesthetic.
CEO Carlo Rivetti said the store will contain installations so shoppers can better understand the process behind the products. “Both stores hosted the ‘Reflective Research’ exhibition to show in a strong way the king of product our investigation on fiber, textile, and treatment can achieve.” The interior is simplistic and really showcases the products. With spot light lighting and minimal product images, shoppers can really appreciate the products and picture themselves wearing them. The store’s hours are Monday through Saturday, 11a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. If you’re ever in the neighborhood, stop by and see what it’s all about.
